Because of the pain caused by trapped trauma, we have learned to dissociate from our body and avoid feeling the pain. We subconsciously feel the pain, but we consciously focus on the mind. Our mind tries to interpret this pain we feel with the stories we tell ourselves. Even the emotions and feelings we feel are interpretations of the the pain we are feeling.
By learning to breathe into your body, you will learn to feel and release the pain due to the trapped trauma the body.
